| Hey Monica, Hey my buddy. Guess where I am? Come on guess.Well I'll tell you . I'm in the early 1800's. I'm In South America. There are alot of revolutions going on right now. Ecuador is having a revolution too. I was there a yesterday. I went to visit my ancestors. I don't think they recognized me. I didn't tell them who I was. But anyway back to the revolutions. Right Latin America is fighting. The revolutions are going on because of socail and politcal reasons. The countries here are divided into different social class and things aren't very fair. The class that have the most power are the penisulas. They are from spain and live here. The next are the people who are born here with parents from Spain. Then the mestizos(one parent is from Spain the other from here). Then are the mulattos(One parent from Spain the other African). Then are the Africans then the "Indians". As the socail classes go down the less power you have. Can you believe that the original people who live here were discrimnated not treated well. I think they should have more power. Did you know that only the people from Spain can be generals? There are more of the other classes than them. This seems very familiar doesn't it. History just seems to repeat itself. Remember in Global, when we were learning about the French Revolution that there were three estates. I would think that the French would have learned to not divided the country into social classes seeing what happens here. Even though they did revolt, they should have not had it from the begining. Anyway back to the revolutions. They were inspired by the Enlightment thinkers(just like the French). Simon Bolivar helped the countries get their independence from Spain. He lead the revolutions. He helped Ecuador, Venezula, Colombia form. They were all one country before. They were all combined to form Gran Colombia. But then something happen. The countries didn't want to be together. SO they split up. Thats why there is Ecuador, or else we would have been part of some country called Gran Colombia. Well I have to go now. I hope you learned something from this laters monica. |
