Today you will be grading another students
web page.
Go to Mr. Moloney's Homepage and click on student web pages.
Then find the student that is directly below you on the list of your classes
web pages.
This is the student whose web page you will grade.
|
Following is a guide to help you with
the grading.
But first you must create a new page on the global studies section of your
page to put your grading.
You need to write the grades you gave the student for each section and
the overall grade.
You also need to explain, in writing, why you gave the grades that you
did.
Remember - you will be graded on how well you grade another students web
page.
How well you grade another students page is worth 10 points.
|
This is how the grading is weighted.

Vocabulary Section
There are 20 vocabulary words that should be on the list.
Each one, and its definition, is worth one point.
A student can only get all 20 points for this section if the student has
all 20 words with good definitions.
A vocabulary word without a definition is worth 0 points.
Deduct points if the definitions are weak. The defintions
should be well written and in the students own words. Deductions should be
made if all of the students definitions are straight from the glossary of
the textbook.
Use your own judgement here: if a student has all 20 vocabulary words and
pretty good definitions, that might be 16-17 points.
20 vocabulary words with weak definitions might be 12 points.
15 words with weak definitions might be 9-10 points.
|
|
Digital Postcard Section
There are 3 digital postcards that should be on the site.
Each one is worth 10 points.
To get 10 points for each digital postcard the postcard must have good
relevent images and text. It should capture the feeling of the time and
give information about the historical time or event.
Use your judgement as to how many points each postcard
should be given.
Obviously - if a postcard is missing it should recieve
"0" points. |
|
Essay/Misc. Section
There should be 2 essays in this section. Each is worth
15 points.
One essay compares Absolutism to Feudalism.
The other essay compares the students fictional government to the ideas
of the Enlightenment thinkers.
Use your own judgement here. Give all 30 points only if the essays are excellent
and full of good information.
Deduct points if the essays are poorly written and do not provide good information.

Overall Web Page Layout
The Web Page should look good and have all the specific
features listed below to earn all 20 possible points.
It should have a link that says "global studies" - or "history" on the first
page of the students web page.
It should be divided up into the three sections that we discussed above.
It should have a Vocabulary section.
It should have a digital post card section with a seperate link for each
postcard.
It should have an Essay section with seperate links for each essay.
Use your judgement here.
Deduct points if the site is difficult to access or difficult to read because
of bad font or bad background colors. |
